How to Use This Free QR Code Generator

Step 1: Choose What You Want to Encode

In the top of the tool, select what kind of content would like to convert to a QR code:

• URL – Link to a website, landing page, or social media profile
• Text – any simple message, note or instructions
• WiFi – Allow guests to connect via WiFi instead of a password for the network
• Email – Open a pre-filled email draft with one scan

Step 2: Enter Your Details

Insert the field that is displayed for your selected type. For instance, if you select URL, type in your website link. If you select WiFi, type in your network name (SSID) and password, and then pick the type of security you use (WPA/WPA2 are the two that are used most often).

Step 3: Customize the Look (Optional)

• Error correction level – Higher levels (Quartile, High) are better suited for QR codes which are sometimes damaged, dirty or printed in a smaller size, for instance product packages, stickers or flyers.
• Colors – Change the foreground and background colors to match your brand. To obtain the best scanning results, use a high contrast between the two (for example, using dark code on a light background).

Step 4: Download and Use

When you see your QR code in the preview, download it as:

• PNG – ideal for creating business cards, posters or flyers.
• JPG – Optimized for the Web or for electronic distribution where quality is important (useful for web designers)

How to Use the QR Code Scanner
